Scaffold of the Week

There was  great view from the ‘office’ for the Upright crew at Lyttelton Port last week. They erected a tank scaffold for Fulton Hogan at their Bitumen Plant.

Tank scaffolding requires specialist equipment – tanks are round and scaffolds are usually square! There are also plenty of hazards, from pipes and valves to bad weather. Newly-qualified Level 3 scaffolder, Florentin Stiefvater enjoyed the challenge – and the view. He’s seen here being mentored by team lead, Vernon Nicholson, one of Upright’s most experienced scaffolders.
